On the shorter side of average, in repose Cassian does not cut a terribly imposing figure. Lean without an ounce of excess on him, there a somewhat soft-edged look to his definition that echoes the same deceptive impression given by most cats.

Common consensus seems to agree that the shapeshifter very much resembles the great cat he so often turns into. Wide-spaced, bright eyes dominate the shifter's face, often drawing attention away from the slightly crooked length of his nose and the pale pink mouth set beneath it. Pale-skinned with fine blond hair, Cassian's eyes are usually the first and last thing most notice about them simply for the intensity of their color set against the pale backdrop of his face and hair.

In spite of his stature, Cassian is a powerful fighter, and the same fluid efficiency that typifies his fighting style permeates his bearing outside of battle.

Cassian favors simple, well-made clothing that fits close to his body, simply because it fits neatly and easily beneath the light armor he prefers.

PERSONALITY:

In a word, cool. Cassian spends a great deal of his time in action, being first and foremost a man of war. However, being in a position of command means he has a duty to those both above and beneath him to spend his efforts and those of his men in a way that most benefits everyone in his care. As such, he tends to distance himself from things that might distract him from his duties.

Cassian approaches almost everything with the mentality that it is a problem to be dealt with and set aside once solved. That is not to say, of course, that he is completely inhuman, but he does his damned best to give the impression that he isn't. As such, he clearly isn't the most social of persons and tends to have no more than a few close acquaintances rather than friends.

Cassian is not without kindness or mercy, but he tends to spin all such acts as simple acts of fairness or justice in the interests of maintaining his usual distance all in the name of loyalty to his kingdom.

WEAPONS: Most commonly, Cassian wields a long hand and a half sword and a shield.
ELEMENT: Ice. Cassian's secondary power is the ability to draw on the strength and resilience of metal to steady himself in the face of great pain or exhaustion. In order to work, his skin has to be in contact with the metal, and while it may not allow him to overcome truly life threatening injuries it is more than enough to allow him to rally in the face of minor to moderate wounds. This also allows him to wield his sword with greater precision and accuracy as it becomes something like an extension of himself.

BACKGROUND
HISTORY:

The bastard son of a minor lord, Cassian grew up at the side of his father's legitimate heir as his half-brother's companion. He was given the education and privileges of a young lord because of his brother's affections, though his education mostly focused on military training as he was meant to be his younger sibling's guardian.

His brother died young, and Cassian cut family ties to continue his military education, eventually joining the ranks of warriors in service to Aver. When, after several years of loyal service, he showed the aptitude necessary for a position as an officer Cassian's laborious climb through the ranks began.
