Birth Though Fire & Ice
It was the first days of spring, the snow and ice finally melting away with the new days. For many this was a time for joy and celebration, new fruits will begin to grow, life on the ground will return and food will no long be a concern. However this was not the case for one kingdom, wrought with a power struggle mid summer as the king did not unexpectedly died and there was no heir. Simmilla broke into a civl war that left the region nearly lifeless.
The leaders where careless each fighting power form one another, the season rolled on summer became fall food was becoming more scarce as the war waged on. Then some time during the middle of fall, a great fire started that burned though the entirety of the kingdom leaving little but ash and smoke. Yet the few remaining groups fighting for power seemed not to care or notice. As time went on and winter showed it's cold fangs, the leaders from the other kingdoms knew the old far western forest kingdom of Simmilla was lost.
The harsh winter that came with a mighty blizzard, nearly brought the civil war to a stand still, starvation amongst the reaming inhabitants that hid in the mountains or the only saved forest region were fighting over what stores of food was left. Winter being the hardest time of year to fly the only time news came slowly.
Good news finally came mid winter when a group of owls left the shattered kingdom claiming the war ended and what was left of most of the groups untied under a new banner and a new king, Rorhin an exiled military commander from the old kingdom. This news worried the neighboring kingdoms, Rorhin was already known across the land as a brutal great grey exiled for attacking small bands of owls whom live between kingdoms. Rorhin eliminated what resistance was left quickly
At the time of spring the neighboring kingdoms wasted no time in sending scouts and ambassadors to the burnt land only to get shut out by the new guards, only getting information that less than half of the original kingdom was alive. To utter shock of the lands this meant over at least four thousand owls perished along with anything else that lived in the forests.
Heat Wave
Spring passed, summer dawned in, but still the news out of the remains of Simmila, apart from it's new name. Rorhizim, or Roz as it soon became to known as, keeping the thoughts that a brutal owl was in charge of still a decently large kingdom down. It put the kingdoms on edge, scouts ran more often, border guards everywhere increased, tensions grew, no one, even the largest kingdom of Da'Roole couldn't get an ambassador in, before they found them unconscious at the end of the border lands. Rohrim didn't even come to the ceremonial, council of leaders, it was a peace gathering with the non-waring clans, they talk, plan out trade routes and supply, even on occasion a small kingdom combining with another. This surprised everyone, of course he was invited, even as the highest honored guest as most new kings are, despite his past he did end the war.
Rohrim not attending the council of leaders, made some of the leaders wonder what was really happening in the ash desert, the new name they gave the burnt great forests of old Simmila. Cerbion the snowy owl king of Da'Roole, didn't like having a bordering kingdom be unresponsive to every request for council for nearly half year. He took matters into his own talons, organizing his most elite royal guards and flew over the small mountains between his kingdom and Roz. Arriving there, he was instantly stopped by guards, being a high king of the owl kingdoms however didn't stop him he pushed back the gaurds, shedding no blood he continued to the rumored stronghold of Rohrim, a series of caves connecting threw one of the most unique feature of these lands, inland mountains. These mountains where much smaller and where more jagged cliffs than anything, but a seemingly unnatural network of caves where found. Once called the Sim Caves now used by Rohrim as his throne. Upon arriving Rohrim was waiting main entrance.
Smirking a bit, he walked up to Cerbion, the conversation between the two ended within moments. "Don't say a word, you and your seven guards will fly out. Speak one word and only you will fly out" From what was told, Rohrim had hundreds of owls waiting perched around the nearby trees to strike Cerbion wisely kept his beak shut. "We don't want any ties to any kingdom, no trade, no agreements, no war. We have a lot of rebuilding to do, and to do this we must do it ourselfs, pity from other kingdoms will make us weak, make me weak. Now leave, if I deem it necessary to ask for help I'll see you personally.
Leaving the place escorted by at least two dozen Roz warriors, Cerbion was disgusted, threatening the lives of his guards, he debated rather to risk war or not at that moment. After exiting the borders into the neutral mountains he told all but two of his guards to return home.
He was going to Everia. Home to many of the most skilled and, respected owls and other creatures. However he was going there to find out what records he doesn't have of the old Simmilan Kingdom.
