THE ANIMAL HALF
SPECIES: King Vulture
APPEARANCE:
His form is a large King Vulture, 80cm in length with a 2m wingspan. He is predominantly white, with black ruff, flight, and tail feathers. His head and neck are bald, with skin color varying, including yellow, orange, blue, purple, and red.

THE HUMAN HALF
APPEARANCE:
Abyx stands a slim 6' in height. He has reddish brown hair which he wears at shoulder length, not bothering to tie it back. He has sharp features that draw attention to his remaining white eye. His other eye is covered by a black eye patch with a silver rune on it. He wears a silver goat's skull amulet from his neck. His right side is marked with a brown tattoo of unknown significance.

He wears black leather pants and black leather cloak. He doesn't normally bother with wearing a shirt. Occasionally he will wear a black vest if the weather is really bad. He carries a scythe without him where ever he goes.

PERSONALITY:
Abyx tends to confuse people who try to figure him out. He has spent a lot of time around beings that were never human and humans that are no longer alive. As such, he tends to view things from an angle that most people wouldn't consider. He views the dark side of things as being part of nature, and not necessarily evil. He comes across as very pragmatic. People who actually get to know him realize he will keep his word, if he gives it.

He isn't very social with most people as he has found that most don't react well to him. He doesn't hold it against them, he just considers it the way things are. He will react badly to people who take action against his husband.


STRENGTHS:
1: Pacts - Through his pacts with various Spirits and The Dead, he has access to capabilities that he wouldn't normally. There are usually limitations on where or how often he can call upon them. They also tend to have side effects based on the entities involved.
2: Unnatural Stamina and Strength- Between having to deal with the Spirits and The Dead and various pacts, his stamina and strength have gone beyond that of what might be considered normally possible. This includes him looking much younger than he actually is.
3: Spirit Sight - He can see into the Spirit Realm and the Paths of the Dead with ease, alerting him to trouble that may come from there.
4: Trained Memory - He has total recall of subjects that he has chosen to study properly. It includes lore concerning the Spirits, the Paths of the Dead, and the pacts that he has to deal with.
5: Soul Link - Abyx is linked to his husband on a level beyond the normal. They can sense the state of being of each other, and if necessary, teleport to the other.

WEAKNESSES:
1: Spirit Touched - He sees shadows from the Spirit Realm and the Paths of the Dead. He reacts to the shadows that others cannot see, not carrying what others think about his actions.
2: Favors Due - His powers, being what they are, mean that he has various favors that he owes to a variety of Spirits and The Dead. He is obliged to carry them out or face retribution that is guaranteed to not be nice.
3: Dark Reputation - He has a reputation of someone who should not be trusted. He is considered someone who walks places and deals with beings that no sane person would want to have anything to do with.
4: Dark Presence - He has an aura about him that unsettles most people. It isn't unnatural but is dark. He also has unsettling events occur about him. ie-cold wind from nowhere, stuff breaking, and the like.
5: One Eye - He lost his eye due to a pact that granted him his Spirit Sight. It's lack limits his vision on his right side.
6: Visions - He has, from time to time, uncontrolled visions of people and places. He has found that it, generally, works out best if he tries to go to the place or person, even if he otherwise wouldn't.

FEARS:
His greatest fear is to be forced to return to where he was born and have to deal with his 'family'.

DESIRES:
He wishes to be left alone by those that do not understand the world he moves in. He doesn't expect it to happen though.

WEAPONS:
He carries a scythe made from a black metal with dark decorations on it.

ELEMENT: Paranormal.
Primary: DeathWalker - He can travel the Paths of the Dead. While there, he can summon and talk with the Dead, making pacts at times. He can also use the Paths to travel from one Death Aspected site to another. (Innate ability)
Secondary:Dark Shaman- He has the ability to summon and talk with the Spirits, with a greater ability when dealing with the darker spirits. He can gain favors from them in exchange for favors done for them. He can also, under the right circumstances, travel to the Realm of Spirits. (Trained ability)

BACKGROUND
HISTORY:
Abyx was born into one of the higher rank families in the Fire Kingdom. He was born at midnight on the autumn solstice, during a full lunar eclipse. He was considered unlucky just from that. When it was realized that, unlike the rest of the family who were predator raptors, he shifted to a scavenger bird, the king vulture. He was targeted for elimination when it was discovered that he appeared to have no elemental ability what so ever. While trying to escape his relatives, Abyx stumbled into the family crypts and entered the Paths of the Dead for the first time, ending up in a burial ground in neutral territory.

He was discovered by a shaman who had come to tend the burial ground. The shaman realized what Abyx's power was and was surprised he was still alive without any training. He promptly took Abyx as his student, teaching him to be a shaman and how to use his DeathWalker abilities. Abyx stayed with his teacher til the teacher died.

It was then that Abyx started to receive visions of people and places he should go to or find. He was yet to figure out where the visions are coming from but has figured out that things get worse if he doesn't pay attention. He has spent years traveling the lands, creating disturbances by his mere presence. He has also learned about a large number of Spirits and Dead that are linked to the land and it's people. During these years, he met his husband. They do not always travel together, but they can always reach the other if necessary.
